　　《中国建筑文化遗产（14）》2014年7月28日值吕彦直先生（1894—1929）双甲子华诞，特选载先生设计广州中山纪念堂图纸中之《广州中山纪念堂首层平面（效果图）》，以示我们的纪念。此建筑是为纪念孙中山先生而兴建的，正所谓“以伟大之建筑，作永久之纪念”。而这座建筑之所以伟大，不仪仅在于其体量庞大、立面外观雄浑壮丽，也在于其6000个观众席的室内布置不仅仅为当时亚洲之最，更体现了中山先生的民权、民生理想——此地将是民众参政议政之所在，同时也将是万民同乐的剧场。吕彦直先生是建筑师中最能体会中山先生治国理念者，故也当然是设计这座中国史上前所未有的纪念建筑的最佳人选本辑没有选载立面效果图而选载了这个平面布置，意在说明吕彦直先生是如何在实用功能与构图美观上仔细权衡、精益求精的。时至今日，在规模上比此建筑更为庞大者已并不鲜见了，但细节处理上如此一丝不苟者，却仍属凤毛麟角。
